WRAP is a global environmental NGO doing incredible work leading the shift to circular living – reducing waste and emissions from food, textiles, and everyday products to create lasting benefits to people and the planet.

WRAP is evolving its approach to performance management to foster a more open, feedback-led culture. To support this, managers are being upskilled to lead effective 1:1s, support development, and strengthen performance.

The Challenge

As a growing, globally-focused organisation with a largely remote team, WRAP faced the challenge of embedding a more collaborative feedback-driven performance culture.

With a shift towards co-managed performance conversations and a new Culture Compass in place, there was a clear need to build manager confidence in giving feedback and coaching for performance. Managers also needed to adapt their approach to support diverse working styles, all while ensuring consistency and clarity across a dispersed team.

The Solution

We delivered a practical, bespoke training programme to build manager confidence, embed WRAP’s new performance culture, and ensure sustained impact through:

  • The discovery phase to tailor content to WRAP’s Culture Compass, language, and performance goals

  • Blended training delivery with practical, scenario-based workshops and a digital toolkit for managers

  • Ongoing support through check-ins and a final evaluation to embed learning and track impact

The Results

The training successfully built manager confidence in running effective 1:1s, giving constructive feedback, and holding accountability conversations. They also worked on developing a coaching mindset to support employee performance and development.

Managers learned to build trust, adapt their styles, and create psychological safety – all aligned with embedding WRAP’s values and Culture Compass into everyday interactions.

Key outcomes included:

  • Enhanced application of WRAP’s Culture Compass in day-to-day management and communication

  • Increased manager confidence in feedback, coaching and accountability conversations

  • High engagement and positive feedback, with 86% overall delegate satisfaction and 91% trainer engagement rating

Testimonial: Rochene West, HR Business Partner at WRAP

“This is the first time we have worked with wayvie, and right from the outset I felt that they really listened to what we were looking for.

Their approach included a ‘discovery day’ where Dan spent time meeting various internal stakeholders to get to grips with the challenges we were facing with our existing approach. This insight really helped shape the training design, and their flexible approach to delivery meant we could run both online and in-person sessions, which effectively met the needs of our people managers.

An added bonus was the follow on ‘check-ins’ to help embed the learning, enabling managers to discuss their learnings and share best practice.”
